Today I walked to an area known locally as The Cover. This is a much loved and specially protected area of Loch Ness Woodland. It is owned by the Woodland Trust and I have permission from the local manager to gather Lupins for my sustainable natural dyeing.
As you can see the Lupins grow abundantly here and as an invasive species they cause many problems for the local native flora and fauna. Fortunately for us they also make spectacular dye and usually I'd be here with some of my course participants to teach them the process. However I'm not currently running courses, except for my online option, so I decided to do a LIVE video to demonstrate solar dyeing.
